Free Mini Art Zine: Get the 2026 Hoshi Hana Field Guide, Digital or Printable

Cover of the Field Notes for a Delightfully Curious Life mini art zine by Hoshi Hana: a heart-framed eye on a bright yellow sunburst inside an arched frame.

Each year, I create a free mini art zine as a thank-you gift for joining my email list. You can read it on screen or print it and fold it into an eight-page booklet.

The 2026 edition, Field Notes for a Delightfully Curious Life, is a little field guide filled with my artwork. I love zines because they’re playful, personal, and fun to make, and I wanted to share my art in a way you can easily interact with .

Written Steps: How to Get Your Free Mini Art Zine

Step One: Get Your Free Mini Art Zine

  1. Visit the Freebies page on HoshiHana.com and enter your email address. Then follow the steps in the confirmation email.
  2. Don’t see it? Check your spam or promotions folder, and add hello@hoshihana.com to your contacts. I don’t email often, but I want you to receive what I send.
  3. Once you’ve confirmed, you’ll get access to the Hoshi Hana Mini Zine Library. Open the 2026 edition and choose a version:
    • Screen-friendly PDF: read it on your computer, tablet, or phone.
    • Free printable: print it and fold your own paper mini zine.

Step 2: Print Your Mini Zine

  1. One sheet of 8.5″ × 11″ US Letter paper
  2. A printer (color makes the artwork pop)
  3. Scissors

Print settings: Letter, portrait, single-sided, scale set to Fit to Page.
The second page of the printable file has the assembly instructions. Print it, or keep it open on your screen while you fold.

Step 3: Fold Your Mini Zine from One Sheet of Paper

  1. Fold along all the solid lines to make eight equal panels. Crease each fold well.
  2. Fold the paper in half and cut along the dotted center line only.
  3. Refold the sheet along the center crease.
  4. Push the outer panels together so the cut opens and the pages form a booklet.
  5. Flatten the booklet with the front and back cover on the outside and the pages in order. The pages are numbered, so you can check that everything is in place. Watch the video above if you’d like to see each fold.
